Welcome, I am potter based in the north-east of Scotland, in the seaside town of Montrose, Angus.
Working in my garden studio since 2014, I make mainly functional stoneware pottery and have been selling my work locally through craft markets and exhibitions since 2016 and in local shops since 2018. I hope that from these pages you get an idea of the pottery I make, inspired by the landscape and colours around Montrose and Angus.
I've been developing my work over the years with a focus on refining my functional tableware range in terms of form, as well as standardising a range of glaze combinations inspired by the colours in the surrounding Angus coastal landscape. I continue to broaden my experience of alternative firing techniques when possible including wood and raku workshops through Scottish Potters Association and working with local pottery friends.
I'm taking part in North East Open Studios (NEOS) again this year. During NEOS 2020 I'll be opening the doors of my High Street garden studio but not letting you actually into me wee 3x3 metre studio. With Covid restrictions in place I am going to leave my workshop studio intact this year and will be demonstrating glazing and throwing pots throughout the week. I will still be displaying and selling my work outside my studio in the gazebo so still plenty to see, all outdoors and as Covid safe as possible although that means sadly no hands on experience this year though.
Please note that NEOS runs from 12-20 September 2020, however I will be closed on Wednesday 16th September 2020.
At other times of the year you are welcome to visit me in the pottery, just get in touch to arrange an appointment.
