Welcome, I'm Irene Hughes.

I work in my garden studio in the heart of Montrose making mainly functional ceramics with white stoneware clay and decorating with glazes reflecting the landscapes and seascapes around me. I also enjoy experimenting with different clays, firing techniques and glazes though, so I am always developing my work.

​

I also teach pottery to beginners and intermediate level students. I am opening a pottery studio in Montrose soon! I collect the keys on the 19th September and for the next few weeks i'll be getting it set up ready for pottery classes which will hopefully start in October.
